POVERTY: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job
- The focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.
- Federal public assistance programs should be redesigned to promote work, not discourage it. Individuals should never be discouraged to find work because they might lose their benefits. Not only for the benefit of the American taxpayer, but because it is shown to be more effective at solving poverty at its root.
